AMD 1--Medieval Germany website

For my first AMD, I explored (and am continuing to explore) this website:

http://www.mediaevum.de/haupt2.htm

"Mediaevum.de versteht sich als ein Internetportal für Studenten und Wissenschaftler der germanistischen und latinistischen Mediävistik. Sie finden auf dieser Homepage demzufolge Links und Informationen zur deutschen und lateinischen Literatur des Mittelalters, die nach dem Kriterium wissenschaftlicher Verläßlichkeit ausgewählt wurden."

So in other words, it is a website that has sources and information for students interested in Germanic Medieval studies. It has original manuscripts in Old High German and Middle High German for scholars. The website itself is a pretty understandable, with a few confusing terms, and the texts are actually incomprehensible to me. But I find it very very interesting because it allows me to use my German while learning more about history for my Later Middle Ages class. Also it is not so hard to pick even little things from the old texts. For example, one I read for my Celtic and Norse mythology class last semester is "der Nibelungenlied." It was written in the 12th century, in Middle High German, but the title is still easily translatable. It means "the song (lied) of the Nibelungs" The picture on the link below is that of Kriemhild and Siegfried the dragon slayer, two very important characters in Germanic legend.
