I enjoyed reading these articles because they were not as ridiculously overexaggerated like they normally are. I do find it funny that the Germans are obsessed with "Dinner for One". It reminds me of my family on Thanksgiving. My family gets together at my aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving and we watch National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation every single year. I can recite every single line from that movie, but like the Germans continue to laugh at "Dinner for One", I still find Christmas Vacation to be absolutely hilarious. It is one of those weird phenomena of the human race. Enjoying a classic movie that you've seen a thousand times and you still look forward to watching it.

I do not find the times that German stores to be open and closed to be terribly frightening. Maybe it sounds terrible to most college students who stumble into places like South U Pizza or Back Room Pizza at 2am, but I can see why Germans want their peace and quiet sleep. I would not want to work the late shift in a store or restaurant here in the US because I want to sleep. So good for Germany for liking sleep over money.

The Father's Day in Germany I find absolutely hilarious. A national day of getting trashed for all fathers and anyone who likes to party. I find it really funny, but it also is a terrible tradition that is asking for many crimes to take place. I mean the picture used for the article are two riot control policemen retaining a drunk man from doing something stupid. However, I see that St. Patrick's Day and New Year's Eve is pretty much Germany's Father's Day for America. All you need to do is be cautious late at night and travel in packs.

The article on Christmas markets reminds me of Frankenmeuth, Michigan. The German city in Michigan has a really cool assortment of shops and such that is bumpin' around Christmas time. So whenever I think of this article my mind goes right to Frankenmeuth.

I read a travel blog on Bern, Switzerland. For one, I read it because I watched Miracle in Bern for the last AMD and that sustained my interest in the place and two, it is in the Alps and I would think it would be a very beautiful place to visit.
