AMD 1
This AMD was not on the list, but I decided to do it anyway because it made since. My cousin, Carnese, is a senior in high school who is enrolled in German 2, which is the equivalent of the class I am enrolled in currently at michigan. So I decided to talk to her, in German and in English, about the differences of the classes and how much she enjoys taking German. The first thing I noticed is how much more German I know then her. She barely understands any dative, let alone how dative works. She has a small understanding on the exacts of the accusative form. She learned it like a smaller child would, she doesn't really grasp that the word being changed is the direct object of the sentence. Also, her class has much more arts and crafts than mine. She often does projects rather than learning the German language. I did not take German in high school, I took French so I undertand what she means when she says that she does too many projects. I would say that someone that took all 4 parts of German in high school could only get into the third part of German in Michigan. Even though they get much more time than us, they are MUCH slower. Anyway I enjoyed talking to her in German and would maybe do it again to tutor her or something.
